Wedding Flower Packages for the Budget Conscious Bride

We understand the need for simple, understated floral packages that people can afford in this economy without sacrificing style. We are offering these "bare bones", anyway you want it packages to help. The principal here is we are using widely available, cost effect floral varieties without the bells and whistles to let you custom tailor your flowers to meet your needs and budget.

Today we are listing some rose packages & later on we will be listing hydrangea, gerbera daisy, tulip packages as well as some combo flowers. All of these flowers ship cross country very well and have been tested for quality after transport. We do offer these packages for local delivery as well, but for anyone more than 2 hours outside our delivery area will most likely save more money by opting for shipping.

All packages are guaranteed to arrive before your wedding. If a package is lost in transit (which we monitor very closely) a replacement will be rushed to you at no additional charge. As a last resort, we can have a local flower shop fill the order. All guarantees and policies are contained in the wedding/event floral contract. We are limited as to how many weddings we can ship each week, so reserving your spot early is always a good idea. You also reserve your flowers at the current market price and you are protected from price hikes & shipping hikes.

Your package can easily be reserved for a 25% deposit for orders under $500 and a 20% deposit for orders over $500. At the time of the deposit, a contract will need to be signed. You do have the option to move your wedding date should something come up, but you may be subject to an increase if your rescheduled date falls on a floral holiday.

We offer vases for sale for centerpieces, but the packages do not include vases. We cannot ship centerpieces that involve the use of flower foam, however, you can order the remaining stems in your package uncut for DIY centerpieces. Pre-cut centerpieces are bound together and sized for the vase you intend to use. Common vases that we prepare centerpieces for are the 4"x4", 5"x5" & 6"x6" Cube Vases, 8" & 10" Gathering Vases, 5" & 8" Bubble Ball Bowls, and 4", 5", 6", 7.5" & 10" Cylinder vases just to name a few.

Care instructions and assembly instructions for centerpieces are included for all packages, as well as phone & email support for any questions or concerns you might have.

Wedding Photographers so good, it will make you cry

The one thing that I highly encourage all my brides to do is to never skimp on the photography. A great photographer can take a small wedding and make it the most beautiful event you have ever seen. And lets face it, with all the money that goes into a wedding to begin with, you should get your money's worth in years of great memories. You should expect to spend around $1500-$3500 for a complete wedding package for great photos. Most photographers will work with you to get a fee that is more manageable & many take payments. You should also find a photographer that will allow you to purchase your photos on a CD either right after the wedding or at some point after they have had adequate time to have prints for sale. Keep in mind also when printing your own photos that not all companies are created equal. Walgreen's is not going to put the same care and quality into your wedding photos as the company that your photographer is using. The photo paper used in the albums a photographer produces are meant to stand the test of time & be full of life for years to come.

I had the pleasure of shooting Emily, my Sept. 6th bride yesterday. We had wanted to do a TTD (Trash the Dress) shoot, but her baby kept growing & we got rained out last weekend. We still went for it though & she did a beautiful job. We also snapped a few maternity shots & we're doing a maternity shoot Nov. 15th when she is showing more, which is going to be a blast. Photography is probably the only thing I love almost as much as wedding coordination and wedding flowers.

Right now, I am working with a high quality Point & Shoot, but I'll be investing in a Canon Digital Rebel very soon. Here is a sneak peak. Isn't she gorgeous?

Yesterday we did Emily's Wedding Flowers and we created a fall palette and incorporated her favorite color, orange. We used the burgundy/black calla lilies and everything went together perfectly. She also wanted Lily Grass, Hypericum Berries in Burgundy & some Ruscus. We used brown roses, burgundy & cream. We eventually covered the green tape on the boutonnieres with black ribbon, but we were in a rush to get there on time (an hour and a half drive), so we didn't have time to get more pictures. Emily also allowed us to stay and take pictures, so I will be posting those next. She was such a wonderful bride and her dress was gorgeous.

Scrap Flower Bouquet & Test of Hand Tied Foam Bouquet Holder

Earlier today before I had wedding flower work, I went into my garden and my yard and picked up what flowers were left and snipped some greens - which wasn't many. Almost everything has finished blooming this year. You can see where some of the blooms are almost dried up! A little spray of crowning glory perked them up from what I started with though.

I wanted to try out the hand tied foam bouquet holders and see how they do. The concept is great - a hidden, constant water source and it looks hand tied. The only downside is that underneath where you are supposed to add the faux stems - faux as in leftover stems from the cut flowers to make it appear as if the flowers run right through. On the underside, it has plastic that holds the foam and it prevents you from placing the stems close to the edge.

I just eliminated that part and the rest worked great. I used the small size and it would work for a small to medium bridal bouquet or bridesmaid bouquet. The larger ones are bigger than I thought they would be - they will make beautiful large bouquets.

Anyhow, here are the results of my scrap field bouquet! I tried a creative ribbon wrap - I have planned to use the Lomey Crystal Pins, but they would not pierce the plastic holder at all. Gluing flat back crystals might be a better option for the hand tied bouquet holder.

I think the ribbon ties should be cut a little shorter.

Vendors with Bad Attitudes

I have to warn all brides - there are a lot of rude vendors, especially florists who make the rest of us look bad. These are the ones that tell you how your flowers should be, despite you telling them what you want. They think it is a horrible thing for the public to have access to loose stems & that you are cheap if you want to do anything yourself.

This is very poor business practice and please don't let it put a bad taste in your mouth. Not all vendors are like this. Their goal should be to fulfill your dream day and nothing less. If they are rude or seem to not care about your wedding, run as fast as you can. You'll save yourself a lot of heartache and frustration on your big day. Trust you instincts.

Another issue that is becoming more frequent is the wimpy sizes of bouquets. You envision something grand and beautiful and you end up with a bouquet the size of a bridesmaid's and your bridesmaids end up with... well, not much at all. Have your florist give you an estimate of the number of each flower to be used in your bouquets and centerpieces. Then compare to pictures you have found on the net by counting the stems (there will be a few more you can't see most of the time, so round up a bit). This will help you figure out just what you are getting. Also ask about greenery - some bouquets end up being mostly greens and you lose out.

Well there are a handful of us who are fighting back to maintain excellent customer service and excellent quality. With the money that goes into a wedding, you should expect nothing less. April's Calla Lily Wedding Package - April has a great sense of style and I will be posting pictures soon of her lovely bouquets. We have selected a very realistic latex calla lily to use and we're adding in some grass for a very neat look.

Kristin's Wedding - I absolutely adore Kristin as well - she is a local bride. I have yet to end up with a bridezilla! Kristin has selected a stunning package filled with all white & ivory shades of flowers. I'm not sure yet, but I am pretty sure she is going to pick the white glass cube vases for her centerpieces. Kristin has selected red hypericum berries to add a splash of color. Her bouquet will contain ivory roses, stephanotis blooms and red hypericum berries. She has decided to go for the open roses look - very modern and budget friendly. You can use less roses and end up with a larger bouquet!
